A slight fever is already a big anxiety for a parent who is scared to see her child get sick. How do you handle the situation? Should you call healthcare services or take things in your own hands? How do you make sure your child never gets sick again? What should you do to secure your children’s health? The questions seem to be endless, but yes, there are ways to protect your children from getting sick and they are summarized as the following:
1.Help your children eat nutritious foods.
You already recognize the importance of fruits and vegetables in the diet. The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in these are what keep your children healthy. This is why they should always be included in every meal. If your children want the bad food like cheesy crisps, you can let them eat from time to time, but never take fruits and vegetables out of the diet.
2.Let them drink eight glasses of water a day.
Dehydration entails a number of risks; it can even be fatal. You should always get your children to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to maintain their good health. Keep them away from sugary drinks because these can damage their teeth and overall helath. If your children are properly hydrated, they can be free from constipation, headaches and lack of concentration.
3.Breakfast and exercise are essential to your children’s health.
Their day should always start with breakfast and exercise. These two can help your child stay away from obesity and other health complications. Exercise makes bones and muscles healthier; it also makes children more lively and enthusiastic throughout the day.
4.Make them stay away from second-hand smoke.
If you do smoke, you should not do this when your children are around because of the big risk second-hand smoke brings to their health. In the UK, almost 17,000 children get hospitalized for the illnesses brought by inhaling second-hand smoke. You know you do not want your children to be like them.
